In October 2022, the project Thirst produced by HBO Max with actress Shay Mitchell – best known for her role as Emily Fields in the Freeform television series Pretty Little Liars (2010-2017) – began its production. In it, Shay travels around Latin America in search of the most typical and extraordinary drinks available locally. And it was Brazil Production Services that welcomed the actress to Brazil and arranged all of the production details!
BPS provided a local production unit for the filming of the series, which took place in the city of Florianópolis, in the state of Santa Catarina, in the South of the country. There, Shay Mitchell took surfing lessons on the beautiful local beaches, learned to play beach tennis and other popular activities.

In the Brazil episode, cachaça (a liquor/spirit made of sugarcane) was the main focus. Shay got to know typical Brazilian cachaças and also visited craft breweries. Alongside this, she also enjoyed some of Florianópolis’ famous bars and nightclubs.
The BPS team also arranged for Shay Mitchell to meet the Brazilian influencer Camila Coutinho, whom the actress already knew from social media, and who ended up making an appearance on the series.

The series Thirst premiered in May 2024. It was a great opportunity to showcase the rich scenery of Florianópolis in this production!
