Moonshiners is a Discovery Channel TV documentary series about informal and underground liquor producers.

Brazil Production Services was happy to be called on board for this international success, and be responsible for producing a few episodes of the series that took place in Brazil with the series host Josh Owens. Our production team hired crew, vehicles, researched stories and coordinated the entire Brazil shoot through some cities in the countryside of the states of São Paulo and Minas Gerais. 

The areas visited are known for their extensive rich coffee plantations and locally produced cachaça, a spirit made out of sugar cane fermentation. The traveling crew made many stopovers in small towns to meet local cachaça and coffee producers sometimes by car and sometimes by motorcycle, but always with an eye for finding authentic Brazilian stories to enrich this established show’s narrative.
